Putting the Right Words in Wedding Invitations
Wedding invitations are the very first symbol of a very memorable wedding celebration that is about to happen. It is therefore crucial to cautiously decide the right words and presentation in a wedding invitation. Any wrong use, abuse, or unethical selection of words presents misunderstanding and misinterpretation for the receiving guests.
By and large, wordings in wedding invitations should be properly conveyed to prevent confusion and misinterpretations from the receivers reading the invitation. This is due to the fact that a word may have several meanings when used in different context as well as when interpreted by different persons.
In wedding invitations, accuracy of every wedding details is very important especially the date, time and place of the wedding ceremony. Evidently stating these details are very crucial especially when there are guests who are asked to attend only during the reception. This event is very possible when couples want the ceremony to be very private and only asks their closest friends and relatives to attend. Hence, carefully stating the purpose of the invitation is very important.
There can also be variations in the wordings of wedding invitations depending on certain situations that are not in the authority of the wedding couple such as the notion of the primary financier of the wedding celebration.
If this happens, it is important to give due recognition to the paying party with the proper use of wordings that is also in accordance with the ethical standards recognizing the feelings and possible reactions of other party involved.
In such instances that the bride’s parents are the primary financier of the wedding, it can be stated in the wedding invitation that the bride’s parents are the one’s requesting the presence of the guests.
On the other hand, the choice of wordings chould also be dependent on the chosen setting of the wedding. For example, the choice of less formal wordings would be appropriate if the wedding is only to take place in a less formal setting such as the home. A more casual tone would be enough; however, due respect is still showed in the wordings.
In reality, there are really no particular standards in the choice of putting together words for a wedding invitation as long as the wordings follow ethical standards and shows respect.
Just remember that particular attention is given to the wedding details in a way that they are stated very clearly. Otherwise, the wedding invitation will not serve its main purpose.
